I have been looking to engrave some coasters I bought on Amazon but being new to the hobby laser field I was a little hesitant try it for fear of ruining the slate coasters. With your how to and description I feel like maybe I got this. I also liked to idea of using the cardboard for a template. Will save me some time. keep up the awesome work!

Doing Slate Coasters are super easy!!! This is actually one of the easiest projects I have ever ran....it was also my first, and I nailed it!!! These Settings are fine, I personally use 55 power....60mm/s on d1 pro 20w. Have fun, and dont worry, these coasters only cost about a dollar a piece on amazon if you get a pack of them!

I was also nervous about messing stuff up, but one of the best things about slate, is if you don't like it, you can literally sand it off. I use an orbital sander, 220 grit and about 30 seconds you have a nice clean surface. I do this with all my test pieces (run the test, then sand it off and burn the project) Hope it helps ease your mind.

@carolinalaserworxSilly question in regards to your comment back to Eternal, Im absolutely new to this, but have the 40 watt. Would I just divide those in half for settings, or do you happen to know? :) Thank you for sharing this project, me and Eternal probably bought the same coasters lol
