This was truly a fun project. I’ve run commercial grade cnc routers as well as other process automation equipment and done inlays with the cnc router. After many tests on scrap mahogany (hurt every time I had to try again) but I figured settings to get me 5.3 mm deep. Text was cut from 5mm maple plywood the extra .3mm allowed for glue to sit and not squeeze out the piece that holds the heat are cutoffs from cutting the heart layers as they fit perfectly. Drilled 2 holes and inserted 2 1/2” dowels in bottom to hold heart in place. Base is shaped piece of mahogany.
