Rocket ship lamp - xTool Projects
This rocket ship design can be used just for decoration or as a unique desk lamp by attaching a light fitting and bulb during assembly. I used 4mm MDF and a light fitting purchased from Amazon.

I purchased this light fitting on Amazon and the end measures 40mm. If your light is a different size you will need to adjust the size of the inner circle cutout.

This cutout needs to be a precise fit to securely hold the light in place.

Step 2: Cut out design

Now it's time to cut out the design. I used 4 sheets of 4mm thick A4 MDF but any 4mm materiel can be used for this project.

If you are using multiple smaller sheets of material some of the pieces of the design will need to be set to ignore before cutting. And always remember to used the framing function to make sure everything fits on your material.

All parts of this design should simply slot together without any glue but some wood glue may be needed if your material isn't exactly 4mm thick.

  1. attach the light fitting into the lower circular cutout
  2. add the bulb to the light fitting
  3. hold the middle circular support in place and add one of the vertical slats
  4. attach the top circular support to the slot in the first slat you attached
  5. add the rest of the slats and evenly space the three larger leg slats around the rocket base

Congratulations your rocket is now complete.
