Use this design to decorate for your 4th of July cookout. This would be a great accent to any table, especially in the dark while the fireworks light up the sky.

Step 1: Design the box

For projects like this where a box is the base of the design, I like to begin with the free boxes.py site.  I used the dimensions of the candle to determine the size of the box.

Step 2: Layout the box

Next, using the XCS software, I imported the SVG generated by the boxes.py site.  Be sure to not adjust the size as this may make the finger joints not line up.

I then added in designs such as fireworks and text to make the box look nice and festive.

Step 3: Settings.
Setting 1
Process Method

The settings are for the D1 5W laser.  You may need to adjust the settings for your laser configuration.

Be sure to follow all the safety guidelines for your laser and always wear personal protective equipment when the laser is in operation.

Step 4: Assembly

The last step is to assemble the box with wood glue.  I like to do a dry fit to make sure all the parts are in the right spots.  This also give me a chance to adjust with sanding.
