Information
This design file includes templates to make your own custom rulers that can easily be personalised.

There are templates for both short (6inch/15cm) and long (12inch/30cm)

The ruler pictured is made from 3mm orange acrylic but these can be made from any material.

Step1: Design your ruler

The file contains three pre-made rulers, a simple rectangle, a rounded rectangle, and a cute monkey deign but you can also just use the markings on the black layer to create your own unique designs.

I like to keep the front of the rules easy to read by just engraving the measurements and then engraving a design or message on the back to add some personalisation.

If you want your ruler to be truly unique you can get creative with the built in shapes in XCS and the combine tool to add a design to the ends of the rectangle, like the included monkey design.

Step2: Place material and set parameters

Once you are happy with the design of your ruler you need to choose a material to make it out of.

I like to use acrylic for rulers as it is available in a lot of bright colours but you can also use wood if you prefer.

I would recommend setting the measurement lines to score and the number markings to engrave.

Now you can cut and engrave your ruler.

These are the settings I used on the D1 Pro 5w with orange 3mm acrylic.
