This tassel maker is a simple shape as a rectangle and the cutouts in the center are also very easy to create inside XCS2.0

  1. Draw a rectangle in your desired length
  2. Draw a circle at least a third of the rectangle length
  3. Draw another rectangle but 2-3mm in height are enough and length a bit larger than the circle
  4. Arrange the Circle and the second rectangle as mid centered and merge them
  5. Select the bigger Rectangle and the merged Shape and align centered
  6. XX the merged Shape from the big Rectangle

If you want to use this tool for different sizes just write them and chosse engraving.

As mentioned in the beginning I would suggest using Acrylic but I‘m using thin Plywood and it works too if your a bit careful working with it.

As always when using my file

  • Cuts are RED
  • Engraving is GREEN
  • Score is VIOLET

Don‘t forget to make the settings fit your material with small little test pieces.

Your tool is cut, now lets make some tassels!

For better understanding I linked my YouTube Video as I thinks its easier to get than the writing steps. But you can choose what you like better.

Creating 1 Tassel at a Time:

  1. Take your yarn and wrap it at least 50 times around one length of your tassel maker.
  2. Cut the end next to the beginning
  3. Cut a single strand in desired length for hanging
  4. Pull this strand unter the wraped yarn on one site and make a knot (for this the hole helps mostly)
  5. Take off the wraped yarn from the tool or if to tight fit cut all yarn at the place where yarn beginning and ending is.
  6. Pull the hanging string through the hole, enough that you can make the top portion of the tassel
  7. Cut another piece of string and make a knot a few mm over the tassel maker
  8. Wrap a few times around and make another knot to secure it. You can leave it like this or use a needle to get the ends inside ob the middle of the tassel
  9. Pull the tassel through the maker just before the endings. This small rectangle we created helps to get a straight ending.

Your finished. Have fun creating everthing with tassels! ~Anzy
