Bilingual Pre-School Math Puzzle

This math puzzle was crated to help pre-school aged children identify their numbers, learn how to count, recognize the sight word in English and Spanish. Since this file was created using XCS you can easily edit the file using your preferred language.
You will need a vector file of a jigsaw puzzle piece which can be downloaded using the file that is attached. I used the slide extension to reduce time. Each layer should have its own color as you will be cutting and engraving.
- Use the TEXT option to create the numbers on each puzzle piece.
- use the SHAPE option to create your desired counter marker. XCS has many free shapes available and you can customize each puzzle piece with the child's favorite shape or animal.
- Once you have completed the design for the front of the jigsaw puzzle you will now click on the EYE to hide the layer and use the TEXT option to write the sight word for each number on the side in english and the other side will be your desired language. My example is in Spanish. the words should be centered to each side of the puzzle piece.
Plug in your slide extension.
To CUT the jigsaw piece you will use the following settings:
BL - 75% Power - 13 Speed - 5 Passes
Keeping the power low will avoid burns and scorching on your wood.
To ENGRAVE your numbers and words you will use the following settings:
BL - 45% Power - 110 Speed - 200 Lines - Bidirectional - 1 pass
Once you are done cutting and engraving 1 side you will need to align your jigsaw pieces using the FRAMING OUTLINE option to place each jigsaw piece flipped over to engrave the back. Make sure you select the word you're engraving is perfectly centered.
