Instruction for Creating the Family Wreath with Scripture

Materials Needed:

  • 3mm thick basswood for the design elements (letters, wreath, and scripture)
  • 5mm thick basswood for the round base

Design & Font:

  • Please refer to the actual LightBurn design file for the exact size and font used.
  • If needed, you may adjust the font to maintain readability and aesthetic appeal while staying true to the original design.

Steps:

Prepare the Material:

  • Ensure both 3mm and 5mm basswood sheets are clean and free of dust.
  • Secure the basswood onto the laser cutting machine's working area.

Load the Design:

  • Open the LightBurn file to access the correct dimensions and font settings.
  • Double-check alignment, scaling, and positioning before proceeding.

Laser Cut the Components:

  • Cut the round base from the 5mm basswood.
  • Cut the letters, scripture, and wreath details from the 3mm basswood.
  • Adjust the power and speed settings according to your laser cutter’s specifications for precise and clean cuts.

Assembly & Finishing:

  • Sand the edges of all pieces for a smooth finish.
  • Position and securely glue the 3mm elements onto the 5mm base, ensuring proper alignment.
  • Allow adequate drying time before handling.

Optional Enhancements:

  • Apply wood stain, paint, or sealant for added durability and aesthetic appeal.
  • Attach a wall hook or stand if needed for display purposes.
