Sometimes you want to create an item that is too large for a single piece on your machine. Larger projects can still be made by using the "tiling" method.
Choose your design and add it to the canvas. I find it easiest to size it in a number evenly divided by 3.
You want to copy your design so that you have three individual copies on your canvas.
By using the layer function, choose one of the copies and assign it to a color other than black, I chose red. Then repeat that with another copy, I chose green. Now you have a black layer, a red layer and a green layer.
Select all three designs. Using the align drop down, align horizontally then vertically. This will make it look like you only have a single design.
Create a rectangle that is ⅓ the width of your design, but height-wise is bigger than your design.
You want to make 2 copies of this rectangle so that you have three equal rectangles. The you want to line up the side edges PERFECTLY (I find I need to zoom all the way in). Once you have them lined up, select all three and align by bottom.
You want to center your three rectangles exactly over your design. Then while the rectangles are still selected, using the arrange dropdown, send them to the back.
in the layer box, choose one of the colors and then also select the right rectangle. They must be selected together. Then using the combine dropdown select unite at overlap. This will cut out that piece. Move it to the side. Then repeat with the other two design layers. This will give you three equal sections of your design.
You will then move each section of your design to its own canvas. I use copy/paste.
Now you will resize each section with equal percentages. Then rotate on the canvas and run your project.
