This is a multi-step assembly. 2 sheets of plywood were used.
I assembled while the mirror was engraving.
- The little rounded triangles (in orange) are meant to be a support for the mirror. Create 8 columns of 4 each. Glue them together so that so edges are not aligned. This misalignment makes wrapping the fairy lights a little easier. (You will notice in the main SVG, there is a “stack” set to engrave and ignore, just for illustrative purposes of how you could glue them together. Size was adjusted for easier viewing.) Each will be glued at or inside the score line (light blue) on the bottom plate, one toward each end of the red lines (set to ignore, as i did not want them present thru the mirror) and be used to support the mirror and provide a guide for the fairy lights.
- Glue one end of the band (red) to the other, to make one longer band. (This was designed this way to allow it to fit on one sheet of 12x12 plywood)
- Glue one end of the stand's hinge to it's base (purple). Once dry, Insert one arm of the stand (black) into the glued on end. The other arm will go into the other end. Now glue this piece to the base.
- The little notch on the back plate is to allow the wiring from the fairy lights to come thru to the battery pack. I positioned it toward the bottom.
- Carefully wrap the fairy lights around the made columns. Round and round. This will serve a back lighting for the mirror. Secure the end of the lights to the bottom plate with a dab of glue, while leaving the battery pack end free.
- Carefully wrap the long band around the bottom plate insuring the notches line up. Do not glue at this point. A piece of painters tape or a rubber band help to keep the band in place while placing the mirror and the top ring.
- Place the mirror on top of the 8 columns you created. The top ring will now go on top of the mirror, again lining up the notches. This will be a dry fitting. Once you are satisfied that the pieces are to your liking, glue the band to the bottom plate, including notches. Glue the top ring to the band, including the notches. I used painter's tape and rubber bands to secure and let dry overnight.
- I used a small piece of velcro to secure the battery pack to the back of the bottom plate. Now glue the stand to the back of the piece. This will allow the piece to stand.
