Purchased from Michael's so unsure of type of wood. It's approx 7x13" of useable space. I used a tacky adhesive to rub chameleon micas into the engraving after painting it black. Put a layer of epoxy on surface for durability Took about 2 hours to engrave. Much longer for the rest.
