This frame can be customised with any name or word and is a great way to remember a special memory, person or pet. The file also includes two different kinds of stand to fit different uses.
The design file contains the ‘Lola’ frame pictured above and a blank template to make a custom personalised version with your own name.
I have also included two different styles of stand on a separate canvas along with the frame back panel.
To add you own name you first need to type the name in your favourite font then use the outline tool set to around 5mm.
Then once you have the outline, select this and the inner rectangle of the frame and use the combine tool to join them together.
I you will need to make a copy of your name so that you can leave the original in place and set to score to help you align the letters when glueing. Then the second version can be set to cut.
These are the settings for cutting 4mm birch plywood using the xTool D1 Pro 5w laser.
For the assembly process you will need some wood glue and a ready cut 6x4 inch clear acrylic panel.
The frame should glue together easily, just be careful when glueing the letters as these can be tricky to align perfectly.
