Step 1: Open File

Open file provided in xTool Creative Space. File is named CarrotEasterTag.svg

Step 2: Add your name to tag
  • For a new name open a new text box and choose the font you would like to use.
  • Place your text box over the smaller carrot in the desired location and size the name as you would like.
  • Copy the text box and move new text box off to the side to be cut out. (Picture #1)
  • Now highlight both the name that is still over the carrot and the smaller carrot. Use the unite function to combine the two images. (Picture #2)
  • Combining these two items makes the name much stronger in places the name sticks out.
  • Now you have your 3 pieces ready to be cut out.

Step 4: Paint

At this point you can paint your project in your desired way. We used FolkArt acrylic craft paint available online or at Walmart. This paint also dries extremely fast (within minutes).

Step 5: Glue

After your paint has dried you can glue your top piece to the bottom egg piece, while lining up the edges, with any wood glue you have available.

Step 6: Finish & Enjoy

After the glue has dried you can add a piece of twine, leather cord or even chiffon works well. Loop it through the hole in the carrot and you are ready to hang it onto an Easter Basket!
