A personal notebook for someone that loves Elephants. makes up the cover with engravings.

Step 1: Design Stage 1

Step 1) This notebook cover starts with a rectangle, this is sized to approx. the same as the notebook itself. Once this is created the corners are set to have a slight radius so the corners are not sharp. The binding for the notebook is made from bent wire so there needs to be several holes for the wire to go through to hold the cover on. With careful measurements each hole is placed along one side of each cover. These holes are made from a circle form the insert button.

Step 2: Adding Elephant to the mix.

Step 2) For the Elephant, the image is within the shapes list right from XCS software, this is placed on the work area and is outlined with a thick offset. The outline is then moved to the top corner of the notebook cover. with the use of the combine feature it is united to the front cover. This allows the Elephant image to be over the edge of the cover all in one piece. Once this is done the image of the Elephant is then mover to the top corner and is set to be engraved. Before uniting the outline of the Elephant to the corner the entire rectangle and all the holes are copied and pasted as the back cover will not have the Elephant.
