Step 1: Design Time

Time to design. I decided to do a heart shape with stripes of wood and acrylic.

The words over the top will be “Not Lucky, Just Blessed”

To create the stripes in the heart- I duplicated the heart 5 times, I also gave them each a different color to make them easier to grab. Align them so the hearts all overlap.

Then you will need to grab one heart and one box at a time.

Click unite at overlap

Do this for the next boxes and the rest of the hearts.

Now decide which stripes you want wood or acrylic

Add saying you like in the font you like

Step 2: Cut Wood

I always start with the wood. Normally I know it will cut just right and I won't have a problem.

Step 3: Acrylic cutting

Next is the acrylic. Since I have a diode laser, this can always be a little tricky. Patience is key and sometimes so is a test grid!

Step 4: Glue Method

I'm going to use 3M as my adhesive for this project. So I'm attaching the 3M before I cut the wood or acrylic.

You can you any adhesive the works for you though! It's all a learning experience for what is best.

Step 5: Assembly time

Start with the heart background.

Then add the words on top.

Feel free to take the template and make it your own! Different saying, colors! Whatever it might be. It doesn't have to be holiday based. This can be decor that just matchs your home decor too!
