Inserted a free image of a baby elephant. and removed the background.

Did an outline and set it to 2, with the inner line unmarked.

Moved the outline a side and inserted a square, which i made smaller, so it would fitter under the feet. Then click combine unite, so it's attached to the feet.

Step 2: Making the base

Inserted a rectangle and unlocked the size, so i could stretch it, to make a rectangle.

I made it a little wider than the elephant. Inserted another square and unlocked the size and made a rectangle and sized it about the same size as the rectangles, i attached to the feet, but a little wider, so that the attached rectangles will fit in the holes.

I then used the arrow key's on the keyboard to move it down into the middle of the big rectangle, which will be the base.

After that was done, i inserted a square and made it rectangle and measured the width of the straw first, so i knew how wide the stem should be. Then i measured the length that i needed.

Inserted a heart from the shapes in XCS and placed it on top of the stem, then highlighted both the stem and heart and clicked on combine then unite. Now both pieces are 1 piece.

I clicked on text and made the text. Then clicked on outline with the inner line unmarked and set it to 2. I then highlighted both and right clicked, to make a copy, so i have 2 pieces.

1 of each piece will be placed on each side of the heart.

For the rose, i inserted the rose from the shapes in XCS and made the stem exactly the same as i made for the heart. Highlighted the rose and clicked on outline and set it to 2.

Attached the outline of the stem and rose, by combine and unite.

Step 4: Putting the pieces together

All pieces are now cut out. I used wood for the Elephant and base and acrylic for the heart, words and rose and used a piece of straw, to stick on the back where the trunk is.

Melted the bottom of the straw with a lighter, so the bottom was closed, then glued it to the trunk on the back side.

I then glued the words onto the heart on each side.

The heart was a cut out and the rose was engraved on glitter acrylic first and then cut out.

I placed the baby Elephant into the slots of the base. Didn't need any glue, but you can always use a dab of glue if needed.

I also colored in the eyes and the engraved lines, to make it pop out more.

Step 5: Finished baby valentine Elephant

Now the baby valentine elephant is finished and you can interchange the heart, with the rose, by sticking it in the straw on the back. It sits in there loose, so it's easy to exchange.

Not only is this baby Elephant useful for Valentine. You can also make a balloon with the words *happy Birthday* and stick it in the straw for a kid's birthday or a flag for 4th of July.

Hope you like this *How to* and maybe you can come up with other ideas to stick in the straw.
