Step 1) This project starts with a oval shape from the shape list, it is then turned 90 degrees and resized.

Step 2) Now once the shape has been resized a circle the same size as the 4" slate coaster is created and placed near the top centered.

Step 3) Once this was done a large rectangle was created and placed near the bottom to square off the edges, this was done with the help of the combine and unite feature.

Step 4) More shapes are needed so a pie shape was selected from the shape list to create an angled stand for the project.

Step 5) Once again a rectangle was created and set to an angle to make the stands, this was achieved the same way with the combine and unite feature, once done a second one was copied to have 2.

Step 6) once this was all ready, a SVG of a candy cane was brought in from a folder on my computer, this candy cane was copied and one of them was reversed and set on each side of the display, Once again the combine and unite was used to create the new outline, A third candy cane was needed as the first 2 were used to create the outline and the second set of 2 were placed over top to be engraved.

Step 7) once everything was in place for the display text was needed to be engraved on the slate coaster, as you can see it says Days Until Christmas this was placed on the coaster to be engraved. It is a 2 part machine time for this project first the slate coaster gets engraved then the wood is engraved and cut.

Step 8) once part 1 of engraving slate coaster was complete then it was time to engrave and cut the wood porsion of the project.

Step 9) Once everything was complete with the laser machine the pieces are glued together, as you can see the pie shaped angled pieces make up the stands for the display, with a piece of chalk it was time to announce the amount of days until Christmas as of August 16 there are 131 day to go…….
