For this project, you'll need a butterfly shape and a couple of rectangles. First, resize the rectangles to fit the bottom and sides of the bookend. Then, make the butterfly large enough to fill the space. Finally, connect the pieces together with small rectangles, and you should be done.

For this, you want to use basswood or acrylic. You will need to glue this, so either one you pick would work, but I definitely prefer basswood as you could paint it.

Now it's time to laser. Remember that these settings are for a 40-watt S1 laser, so you need to adjust accordingly. Also, don't forget to wear your laser-safe glasses.

Now you need to glue the pieces together. They should fit easily, then you're almost done.
